General Description The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a selection of hotels, resorts, and cruise ships to the targeted / chosen markets through close liaison and cooperation with tour operators (TO), travel agencies (TA), online travel agencies (OTAs) airline companies, tourism boards and other ad-hoc channels. Previous hotel sales and marketing experience is required. Dynamic, open to domestic and international travels, skilled with conducting product presentations and sales trainings, creative with conceptualizing promotions and packages for the selected market zones. Must be proficient in both English and Chinese (Mandarin and/ or Cantonese), able to write and verbally communicate fluently. The candidate must also possess strong inter-personal skills, and enthusiasm in growing the sales and marketing network for the benefit of the hotels, resorts and other ASIA REPS clientele. Must be a team player. This job is based in Shanghai, China. Main Responsibilities Promote our portfolio of clients to TOs, wholesalers, retail agents, OTAs, for inclusion in roundtrip programs, FIT and group bookings, series bookings. Ensure the possibility of having our clients’ products and properties featured in the targeted tour operator brochures and catalogues (printed and online) to increase awareness and interest within the market. Identify potential TOs and distribution channels which are specific to each product / property. Assist the Head of Team and Director in formulating short and long-term sales strategies that will effectively produce bookings for the products / properties being represented. Organize, plan and execute dedicated sales trips for clients who wish to conduct sales calls within the assigned countries. Accompany the clients on these sales trips upon the request of the clients. Participate in regional travel shows and roadshows (within China and Asia) identified as beneficial for our clients. Regular Tasks Conduct daily sales calls via personal visits, active telemarketing, skype and emails to the target markets, to promote our clients. Monitor the production / bookings from major TOs to the hotels, resorts and cruise ships. Report this back to the concerned clients. Provide analysis and recommendations for future action Liaise between our clients and the TOs regarding contract rates Liaise between airlines, TOs, tourism boards and our clients regarding familiarization / inspection trips, and media trips Maintain regular contact with clients to report market feedback, liaise requests, clarify inquiries, and to report potential leads for action and follow-up Attend scheduled travel shows within China or Asia, meet with product managers and sales managers to promote our clients Consistently look for new contacts within the Chinese/Asian market, keeping abreast of new TO companies, OTAs, and special niched operators that we can approach to promote our clients Prepare monthly reports for submission to the clients Communicate market trends, developments, current socio-political situations that may have a bearing on the business of our clients.
